How to use
Enter values from your device specifications or measurements, then select Calculate. Defaults are editable examples. Copy result saves a text summary; Copy link shares your inputs. Reset restores the example.
Methodology
PPI = square root of (horizontal pixels squared + vertical pixels squared) divided by diagonal inches. Pixel pitch = 25.4 / PPI millimeters.
Worked example
1920 × 1080 on a 15.6-inch display gives approximately 141.21 PPI.
Limits and sources
Use the native panel resolution and visible diagonal. Rounded corners and non-square pixels are excluded. There is no universal PPI score for a good display.
Background reference: Adobe pixel dimensions and resolution guide. The source supports the background concepts; results use the formula above.
FAQ
Does 4K always look sharper?
The same resolution on a larger screen has fewer pixels per inch. Viewing distance also changes perceived sharpness.
